Lecture series in China, October 26th-30th 2010
The International Centre on Human Rights and Drug Policy and the Irish Centre for Human Rights will present a series of lectures on the theme ‘Drug Crimes and the Death Penalty’ at two Chinese law schools. The universities involved are:
- Law School, Peking University
- Law School, Beijing Normal University
The lectures will be delivered by Prof William Schabas. Prof Schabas, a noted scholar on the death penalty, is Director of the Irish Centre and member of the International Advisory Committee of the International Centre on Human Rights and Drug Policy.

2nd Annual Irish-American Human Rights Exchange – October 17th 2010
The International Centre on Human Rights and Drug Policy will speak on the topic ‘Reconsidering the International Narcotics Control System through a Human Rights Lens’ at the 2nd Annual Irish-American Human Rights Exchange.
The conference is held under the auspices of University of Notre Dame Centre for Civil and Human Rights and Irish Centre for Human Rights, and rotates each year between the two institutions. This year’s conference will be held at the National University of Ireland, Galway October 17 & 18.
