Irish Centre for Human Rights – The Irish Centre for Human Rights at the National University of Ireland, Galway is one of the world’s premier university-based institutions for the study and promotion of human rights and humanitarian law. Since its establishment in January 2000, the Centre has developed a global reputation for excellence in the field of human rights teaching, research and advocacy, which has enabled the institution to attract a a high quality, internationally diverse student body to its acclaimed Masters Programmes and to build a thriving community of Doctoral researchers.
Atma Jaya Catholic University (Law Faculty), Jakarta, Indonesia - Atma Jaya Catholic University is one of the top ranked private universities in Indonesia. The Law faculty was established in 1965 and has three major areas of study: Private Law, Criminal Law and International Law. The Faculty runs a Legal Aid Centre for poor and vulnerable groups and has connections with UN Agencies and National Institutions, such as the Indonesian National Human Rights Commission, etc. It campaigns on various issues including women’s and children’s rights and drug policy. The Faculty has also developed relationships with international universities (e.g. Radbound University of Nijmegen in Netherlands, working together on European and ASEAN Law). Atma Jaya’s Law Faculty is a member of international Law Association in Asia.
International Harm Reduction Association - The International Harm Reduction Association (IHRA) is one of the leading international non-governmental organisations promoting policies and practices that reduce the harms from all psychoactive substances, harms which include not only the increased vulnerability to HIV and hepatitis C infection among people who use drugs, but also the negative social, health, economic and criminal impacts of illicit drugs, alcohol and tobacco on individuals, communities and society.
Universidad de los Andes (International Law Department), Bogota, Colombia - Universidad de los Andes was founded in 1948, the first non-confessional private university in Colombia, independent from all political parties and founded as a centre for studies, research and defence of the truth. Universidad de los Andes has nine faculties, including Law, within which there is a thriving International Law department headed by Professor René Urueña, which serves as a centre of expertise and learning on public international law and human rights.
