Human Rights and Drug Policy Project at the Irish Centre for Human Rights - In December 2009, the International Centre on Human Rights and Drug Policy in partnership with the Irish Centre for Human Rights established a Human Rights and Drug Policy Project within the Faculty of Law at the National University of Ireland Galway.
The Irish Centre for Human Rights is one of the world’s premier university-based institutions for the study and promotion of human rights and humanitarian law. Since its establishment in January 2000, the Centre has developed a global reputation for excellence in the field of human rights teaching, research and advocacy, which has enabled the institution to attract a a high quality, internationally diverse student body to its acclaimed Masters Programmes and to build a thriving community of Doctoral researchers.
This Project established a Doctoral Fellowship in Human Rights and Drug Policy within the Irish Centre for Human Rights, as well as a programme of activities designed to promote research on drug policy issues among other university human rights programmes.
International Journal on Human Rights and Drug Policy – The Centre’s flagship publication, the Journal is the first and only international peer reviewed law journal focusing exclusively on human rights and drug policy.
